The Body

The Body

Where will I go when it can no longer support me? When my sight grows dimmer. When my stride becomes slower. When my hair turns to grey dusk. When my muscles lose their strength. Where do I go when my home falls into ashes?

The body.  A beautiful, physical shape to reside in for a while… I dance.  I dance bare body. I walk bare body in my house. Free body. My body. It’s been given to me this way; though I’ve changed parts of it. I dance. Unique outlines. Familiar shapes.

I sing and dance with my reflection.  Music- My songs. Volume up. Muscles defined. Motion.

Strange? Perhaps. But there is nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to the body. My daughter sees me bare, there is no hiding or shaming. This physical frame is for this physical world. Pleasure. Pain… Existence. The body is a temporary shelter; until, of course, I get to travel on…  Where will I go next?
